COMMENTS ON WEBSITE CONTENT STATS
Please Note:
These statistics reflect activity that began in earnest
the spring of 2004.
The total number of visits represents those
who access the site directly through the Home Page. It does not
register those that go directly to other web pages on the site that may have
been saved as "favorites" such as The Library or Heritage
pages. That being the case, and since some links from other
websites, individuals, and search engines bypass the Home Page which
brings visitors directly to other pages on the UnityHeritage site,
the number of visits to the site listed is not necessarily the best
indicator of site usage.
Significantly more accurate indicators of
usage would be the number of pages accessed and the number of
total "hits" to the site which shows the actual totals of
specific individual documents and entries viewed.
There are additional factors to consider in
assessing the full extent of access to material on the
Heritage site. Copyright permissions allow the heritage material to be
copied, distributed, used for classes or educational purposes, and forwarded
via internet e-mail and postings as long as there is no intent to use the
material for financial gain. Internet forwarding can be quite
voluminous.
We have examples of forwarded material with more
than a couple of dozen recipients and those recipients are in turn
free to forward the material to others. Therefore, the true total
number of individuals who are reached and view the material posted
on this site is without doubt far, far greater than the
access statistics would suggest. There is no reasonable method to
estimate what that number may be.
FIRST EXCLUSIVE UNITY BASED BOOK NOW IN PRINT
LoneWolf Press has published its first soft cover
volume of Unity articles by Charles Fillmore. The title is
"Christ and
Christianity" and contains 22 selections illustrating Mr.
Fillmore's perspective(s) of the role that Jesus and His teaching have as the
foundation of the Unity movement. It is now available to the public.
Send a check or money order to the above address. For more information please "click" on the link indicated.
THE LIBRARY
The "Library" now has more than
750
selections that include a collection of more than 140 articles by Charles
Fillmore and 30 plus by James Dillet Freeman. Most of these writings do not appear in published books
and can only be found in the Unity library archives which requires a trip to
Unity Village, Missouri or from any PC anywhere in the world with internet
access by keying unityheritage.org into a search engine like Google
or Yahoo. There are still 100's of additional files of material to be
edited, arranged, and posted to the site. Since our staff and resources
are limited, additions and maintenance to the site takes time.
AMERICAN HERITAGE
The "American Heritage" Library
section has been consolidated and reorganized. It is undergoing a
significant expansion and now contains close to 80 items. The
underlying message of the section is to demonstrate that among the American
Founding Fathers and heroes there was a very strong belief in the supreme
Deity, often referred to as God, and relied heavily on Divine
direction and intervention. They believed that this nation exists by
the hand of "Divine Providence" and stood on biblical principles
emphasized by the teachings of the New Testament and the example of
Jesus. For the most part, they were not typical "church going
Christians" or preachers. They prayed frequently but did not often
worship publicly. Rather they stood upon and lived the principles.
They were reformers, activists, and revolutionaries for a cause greater than
their own ambitions—at risk of their lives,
often unto death.
Jesus is often called the "Prince of Peace" but
out of his mouth he said that he did not come to bring peace but war. Study
the New Testament objectively, especially the Gospels, and it becomes
apparent that he was, as many scholars have noted, a "Messianic Warrior".
He was a soldier, reformer, activist, and revolutionary who fought a great
battle to defend the guiding principles of human life. He was often
depicted as the leader of great hosts (armies). His sharp two-edged
sword was not made of steel but his tongue, under the banner of Truth.
Realize that according to tradition, Paul who "fought the good fight"
along with all of the first group of apostles (messengers) of Christian
Truth, save John the Beloved imprisoned on the Isle of Patmos, were brutally
murdered.
If our nation gives up those principles which are its
backbone and strength, America will cease to exist as the "Shining
City on the Hill" and the "Earth's last great hope" as it once
was.
POETRY AND PSALMS
Diverse selections of spiritual and inspirational
"Verse" are now greater than 650. More than half of these selections can be
found in Unity publications. That includes the category of verse
from Unity publications and those scattered under other headings including
the Transcendentalists and classic poets. In her time Ella
Wheeler Wilcox was a Traditional Unity favorite as well as a popular
national icon. This was the Poetry of choice for Traditional Unity.
THE TRANSCENDENTALISTS
Charles Fillmore said, "All Students of metaphysics
should read Emerson.
His writings contain the essence of all higher thoughts…
[He] anticipates the modern school of metaphysics…
no metaphysical student should be without his works."
Modern Thought (April 1889)
Listed below are some of the Trancendalist essays on the website.
Divinity
School Address-Emerson
Idealism-Emerson
The Transcendentalist-Emerson
Death of a Pine
Tree-Thoreau
Higher Laws-Thoreau
Life Without
Principle-Thoreau
Transcendentalism in New England-Dall
There are also more than 100 Transcendentalist poetry selections
in the Verse pages of the website. Much of it is very moving; others
are educational.
PROJECTS AND PLANS
1. We will continue to collect, organize, edit unique or classical
material and write commentaries for Unity based books and booklets or related
works.
2. We hope to significantly expand the subjects
and scope of the site material to illustrate the connection of
Traditional Unity and Biblical Principles from our perspective to American
Heritage and the world
of our time. Some of these efforts are likely to be controversial—so
be it.
3. The quotation section has been
long neglected and is in the process of a makeover.
Selected quotations are being reorganized, updated, and greatly expanded.
Individual sections will be posted when there is sufficient content to be
worthwhile. The largest of our primary half dozen non-Unity categories
exceeds 25 text pages and is about ready to post. A good
quotation can convey in a few lines the content of a full essay. They
are extremely useful and effective in communicating a point.
4. The technology used in the current Website
is now obsolete and we are in the process of evaluating alternatives
for its replacement without disturbing the content rather than continuing to
patch the current site as it is.
5. We are also intending to create a separate
LoneWolf Press, LLC commercial site to provide printed material and other
media to augment and expand distribution of our work and message.
SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE
The UnityHeritage.org website is the largest single
source of Traditional Unity writings and related
information readily available to the general public that exists. No
other source is organized and summarized by category and topic for easier
reference in the formats we have created. We continue to refine and expand
this resource for the benefit of the Unity Movement and to carry its message
as far and wide as possible. The extent of expansion of this work is
only bound by the resources at our disposal which unfortunately are limited.
Source material is virtually without limits.
This website exists for the sole
purpose of preserving and promoting and extending the work begun by the Fillmore family.
It is not a business venture and there is no hidden agenda. There is no
paid staff; all work is voluntary. This effort is a mission and the
hope is to send a message of the liberal, caring, New Testament
Christianity, practically applied, as given to us by Jesus the
Messiah . He and only He is the true head of what we seek to accomplish.
It is for Him that we labor.
We would accept with grateful appreciation any
assistance in this effort that any are willing to offer. That could
include financing, appropriate source material, a note of thanks—of
encouragement via e-mail, or postal correspondence. Help us to "Pass It
On" and "Pay it Forward."
